Girls Weekend!

We had such a great girls weekend a couple weeks ago.
After we went to our golf tournament we started our girls only weekend!
I posted something a few posts ago with the start of our girls weekend at Gardner Village.
The next morning we had an early start and headed up to Park City. My sister is a sucker for garage sales so we stopped at a few once we got up to PC. We then had a delicious pizza lunch out on the patio and headed to the outlets for a full day of shopping.
That night we went to a fun play my aunt JoSam found.

We got back to our hotel late but luckily the pool was still open for a dip!
We went down and swam and sat in the hot tub

The next morning we went to the Park Silly farmers market.

If you havent been up to the Park Silly you need to go next year. Its so much fun. They have so many fun vendor booths and really good food, and bands...its a lot of fun.

While we were on main street we stopped by Kimball Art Center . I really enjoyed that. Probably my favorite piece of the whole center was by this artist who would make an image out of spools of thread. Each spool was different colors to make up an image. The image was upside down, but there was a glass ball you could look through and the image would be right side up.
Example: The last supper

Made up of 20,000 spools of thread!

I thought it was one of the most creative pieces of art Ive seen.
I cant image the hrs something like that would take.

On our way home we dropped my sister off at her inlaws where her husband and kids were for dinner. When we came down the mountain we could see all this smoke. At the time we couldnt tell where it was coming from but as we got closer to her inlaws house in Herriman we could tell it was coming over the mountain.
That night I could not believe what it turned into.

I feel so bad for those that lost their home, or had smoke damage.
I remember reading on KSL a story of one of the homeowners that lost his home who was out of town when it all happened. I think luckily the others were able to grab as many personal possessions as they could before the police evacuated them. But I felt so bad for this poor guy who lived there 30+ years that had his whole life in that house. Yes, its a miracle more homes didnt go, and no one was seriously injured, but can you imagine losing everything you own? I would say that man deserves a Homemake over Mr Ty Pennington. It wont bring back family photos and heirlooms, but the guy could probably use a nice place to call home right about now.

Girls weekend looked like so much fun! Nothing better than pizza lunch and shopping! So sad about the fire... hopefully that guy had really really good insurance coverage!
