Demo Derby

This last weekend I went up to Heber for a rockin Demo Derby.
It was a ton of fun.
My friend Sabrina is amazing at throwing get togethers. She thinks of everything down to the last detail. There were 20 of us in the group and she made dinner for everyone. She does such an amazing job and is a great cook.
Here she is with my favorite dessert she made.

Her parents live up in Park City so after we ate Sabs gave everyone a gift bag full of goodies including fake tattoos for the derby.
I chose a killer shark for my wrist and a lovely heart. Rock & Roll!

Check out these sweet rides

The girls had bought tickets a few weeks in advance so our whole group was able to sit on the front row!

Some of the pictuers are a tich blurry because they were taken with a cell phone.
The gals

There was this one hit that knocked a girl out of the race. She was so mad she started hitting her head on the stirring wheel! It ended up not only knocking her out of the race, but knocking her completely out. Kinda of silly. Well they couldnt get her out because of all the hits, so they had to use the jaws of life or whatever they call it.

It was some good redneck fun. Thanks sabs for all your hard work you put into it!

Summer is going too fast!

I hate that summer is going by so fast. I love being able to be outdoors and do fun things without freezing my buns off
I am trying really hard to complete my list I made of "Things to do this summer". I figure I have until the middle of Sept. since that is when the first day of fall is (I think?).
First off, I got a new camera and I am super D duper excited about it. Now only if I knew how to use it!

I get to cross off a couple more things off the list.
First, Picnic in the Mountains.
My parents have the greatest old school camp trailer. They decided to pack it up and head to the Spruces for a couple of days. They invited the kids up for a little picnic/dinner one of the nights. It was really fun.
Cody and Kam gave me a lift up the canyon and poor little Bel got car sick or something and lost his cookies. Lets just say I am going to be the WORST mother. As soon as my brother could pull the truck over I was outta there and dry heaving like nobodies biz. (Sorry possibly too much info). Kami is such a great mom though, just jumped right into action.
Anyway, we got up to the beautiful camp site and had a little dinner by the fire.
Isnt their trailer so cute?

My mom calls this her Rachel Ray fridge :)

My handsome mountain man dad

The gals waiting for dinner to finish cooking.

I love this picture. My brother was fishing on this log when this baby moose walked right through the stream.

My mom roasting her dog. Doesnt she look beautiful here? She had been camping for 3 days here and still looked like a total rock star.

I love this picture of Bel

Babies loved the campfire.

I had a lot more pictures, but sometimes I feel like I post too many.
It was a lot of fun, and besides our hot dogs, my mom had cooked a yummy chili and corn on the cob.
It was a fun night and I was glad we were all able to go up.

I also went down to St. George this last weekend to see some friends and to see Footloose at Tuacan. I have wanted to see it for quite some time, and an Outdoor concert was on my list of things to do so I packed up and went! I unfortunately forgot my camera so as soon as my friends send some pictures my way I will add some photos.

I had such a fun time the other day. I wanted to make Homemade Jam and one of my high school friends Laura said she wanted to come make it with me. I haven't seen her since high school we decided. Too long! It was so much fun catching up with her, and hearing about her 2 little boys and what she has been up to. She is such a fun girl, and such a sweet friend and I was really happy she came and hung out for a bit and helped me. Heaven knows how it would have turned out with out her!
I made raspberry jam and it turned out so yummy. I really think I could live on Peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwiches for the rest of my life.
It was like a billion degrees in the house as you can see by my incredibly shiny face.

These little containers are the greatest thing.

Thanks again Laura for the fun time!
I hope everyone has a fabulous 24th holiday!

*SIDE NOTE*
This is totally random to put in this post, but I just felt inspired :P
I have been really lucky to have been able to spend as much time with my family as I have these last couple of months. This year started out really rough for me and I knew I needed to take some time and step back from the world and lay low for awhile and I have had an absolute BLAST being with my family and having so much time away from it all. It has been exactly what I needed. So thank you so much fam for being there for me, and being my huge support. I LOVE you all!

Garage Sale

I'm pretty sure I have a new Saturday morning hobby- Garage Sales!
I have never really had any huge desire to drive around early on a Saturday morning rummaging through someones stuff they don't even want. But for some reason when I was making my summer list of things to do I wanted to give it a go. My friend Lauren wanted to come and I am so glad she did. We had a blast. I didn't take very many pictures though.
We were both beginners at this and didn't know exactly what the best way was, but I got online first thing in the morning and looked to see if families posted their addresses online so we would have some kind of plan. But after doing that, I think its best not to have a plan. I think its best to think of an area, and then just follow wherever the signs take you!
At the very first sale we found, Lauren found this lovely pewter dish/plate for $5!

I found this magnet board for $1. I am going to paint it another color, I just don't know what yet. The little shiny things are stickers that came right off. The little red stand I found at the another sale we hit a little further South. I got the stand for $2! (Its a lot cuter in person, it has a really cute design on the top).

We didn't have a ton of time because I am part of a Breakfast Club and I had to meet for breakfast at 10AM. I had found a supposedly "Huge Multi-Family Garage Sale" and wrote down the address. Sadly we spent a lot of time driving past a lot of sales looking for this one we never found. After giving up, we did stop at one where I found this...

Lauren came with me to Breakfast Club and this week we met a fun little Cafe called Hagermann's Bakehouse Cafe. I had only been there for lunch, but they had really good breakfast as well. I would recommend it. They have an amazing Jalapeno jelly you can put on your sandwiches. If you are in the Salt Lake Valley & want it try it, here is their website Hagermanns
We had so much fun, and want to do so many things different that we are going to go again in another couple weeks! Thanks for a fun morning Laurs!

4th of July!

I LOVE the 4th of July. By far my favorite holiday of the year. My family has a fun tradition that makes it that much better. This year, we mixed it up a bit so I could cross off one more item of my summer to do list, and we made tin foil dinners instead of the regular BBQ. Love it. Just a warning, I had too many cute pictures and couldnt cut many of them out. So there are a lot of pictures ahead.
Every year we walk to the Riverton parade. Before we walked down my mom and I made our tin foil dinners.

Then everyone started showing up with their premade tin foil dinners and we were off to the parade! We have the nicest friends/neighbors that save us a great spot for the parade. It has a small spot of shade for the little ones which makes it nice!
The twins

Oaks & Mei Mei (Doesnt my sister do an awesome job making their bows?)

Mei & her BFF Brandy

My Dad all ready for the parade

Bell kept running into the street looking for the parade that hadnt started.

Cody & Kam

My Auntie Katy & cousin Burgon came down to spend the evening with us. Last year the Jensens came to the parade and had a BBQ with us after but didnt sleep over. So my sister and I went and toilet papered their house in the middle of the night. Turns out they sat up and watched us do the whole thing!
Burgon & Millie

My Aunt Katy, me & Mei Mei being a good girl and not letting one float go by without waving.

Oakley LOVED the dancing girls and all the music. She was getting her groove on anytime she heard music. This was one of my favorite moves.

Mom & Gus

Oaks & my dad

After the parade we came back to my parents to cook our tin foil dinners!
I wanted a picture of all the kids in their cute matching outfits. We couldnt get them to sit still for 2 sec. This is the best one I got!

My mom & Burgon husking corn.

Right after I took a picture with my sisters I went to get up and I was stuck to the grass. I had just sat in a piece of chewed up & spit out taffy.

I will have to say I think Kaysie won the Tin foil dinner challenge. She went above and beyond. She made taco tin foil dinners, a breakfast one, sweet potatoe fries, and then she made this delcious dessert. She cut a banana in half with the peel still on, and stuffed one with chocholate and marsh mellows. Then she did another one which is the one I tried that was marshmellows and peanut butter...so tasty. Then she wrapped it up in foil and stuck it on the fire.

All of our tin foil dinners cooking on the fire pit.

My cousin Garrett had to work the earlier part of the night, but he came over for dinner and to hang out for the rest of the night!

Here is how my dinners turned out! Turkey burgers and veggies. Yum.

After we hung out around the camp fire we got all set up for our outdoor sleepover! I couldnt get a very good picture of us all at night, but here we are in the morning waking up! Even the babies got to sleep outside.

My mom and all her grand babies

My dad cooked a delcious breakfast. He made swedish thins and my brother did all the meat on the BBQ

Bel & Mei Mei having breakfast

After breakfast CC & her family had to head out to another family party. Cody and his family stuck around for a bit and we had pizza for lunch. After we hung out for a bit I went and bought a new camera. Yahoo! Then I went with some friends and watched the Sugar house fire works. What a fun, fun holiday. Hope everyone had a blast!
