ROAD TRIP!!- Part 1.

About a month ago Russ and I took a fantasic 10 day road trip.
We started on a Friday around noon. We rented a car since I drive a SUV and he drives a truck, we thought we'd save more in gas by renting a car.
Our plan, drive up through Idaho, through Montana, up to Washington, Ferry to Vancouvor Island, Canada, and down the Oregon coast. Pretty intense game plan for 10 days.
We left around noon and met up with my brother and his family for dinner in Idaho Falls.

I miss these kids so much! We told my brother, but surprised his kids. It was fun.

We ate at The Snake Bite, which was right across from the falls, so we ran across the street before hitting the road.

We hopped back in the car and drove until we were tired. We stopped for the night in Salmon, ID and got back on the road first thing the next morning to our destination...Spokane!
On our way up, we drove through Montana and got directions from Russ's mom to see the house where he was born.
Right down the street from his first house was a Chelsea St!

He was born in a really small town, it was fun to see. There was a gate so we couldnt get right up to the house but we still got a peek :)

Russ's sister lives in Spokane, about a half hr away from beautiful Coeur D'Alene.
We met them there for a fun little hike. It was so so pretty. I want to go back and spend more time on a little house along the water.
Russ's pretty sister Virginia and her cute family.

Russ and his niece Kya stopping for a mid hike stretch.

The view from up top.

After the hike, we drove to Spokane to drop our stuff and their kids off at his sisters place.
That night they showed us around Spokane. I LOVED it there. The city was clean, there was so much going on, and it was really pretty. We lucked out with great weather too.
We went and had Thai food (mmm our favorite) along a pretty river.
Russ's brother in law just graduated law school, so he showed us around Gonzaga. It was such a pretty campus. Then we went and had frozen yogurt.
The next morning they made us a big nice breakfast and we hit the streets of Spokane for a bit before hitting the road.
The girls wanted to take us on a marry go roud. I do have to say it was probaby the funnest marry go round Ive ever been on.

This will probably not make sense since it didnt to me when they were explaining it the night before, but half way through the ride, this little thing comes down and has little loop things you have to grab. You are going kind of fast in a circle and you have to lean pretty far off your horse to get the loop thing, and then as the ride goes to the other side, there is a picture with a hole you try and throw the loop in. It was fun. And hard.
I rode with Kya and attempted to get the loops so she could throw them.

We walked around the park and there was this goat. If you put trash by its mouth it sucks it in. A Mechanical garbage can. A clever idea to keep a park clean.

There was also these really cute slide.

Not good on a bad tailbone, but fun.

I especially love the dead looking kid on the tire.

Pretty cool statues.

We also went to another part of the city to see some of the rivers.
The rivers were really full. It was pretty.

I tried to throw him over but he was too strong.

I really enjoyed Spokane and spending more time with his sister Virgina. She doesnt come in town too often so it was fun to get to know her better.
We said our goodbyes and headed back on the road to Seattle!
