Summer Happenings

Its kind of hard to believe its summer right now. I am at my parents for Fathers day..in June, and he just built a fire in the fire place! Its COLD.
It sure doesnt feel like summer, but Its still been a fun time so far!

As I displayed on my blog, The Race For The Cure is close to my families heart.
We had a great time running it this year.
A little pre run stretch.

We generally walk it as a family, but since my sister and I were training for a half marathon all my brothers and sisters and myself ran it.
Our team, "Sole-Soul"

My Cousin Ashley comes down from Bear Lake every year to run it.

There's always tons and tons of people, but ironically, we run into my friend Lauren and her mom almost ever year. Her mom is a breast cancer survivor!

First year we've run in memory of our Grandma.

We had a great time and we helped raise a little more money to help the cause!

ECKO TURNED FIVE!

My little black pup turned 5. After the race for the cure we had a bit of a birthday party for her. Pizza and dog bone shaped cookies!

The girls got special dog shirts for the occasion.

The family loves Ecko Smecko..

Well I dont think Kaysie does, but she did give her a hug on her birthday. That was pretty big.

Thanks to everyone for the fun gifts! Ecko loves her new pink jersey

And I love the new pooper scooper picker upper. Clips right on to the ol belt buckle and if Ecko uses the ladies room I have something right there and handy.
In fact, we used it the next day on our bike ride through the park :)

SOCCER
I play on 2 teams. My womens team took first place last season, but we didnt do as well this round. We still had a great time. Go Sweaty Betty's!!
My Coed team, Bieber Fever went undefeated the whole season...until the championship.
We still had a great time and kicked some serious butt.

My Dad doesnt like to have a lot of attention on him, but it was his birthday the other day and I threw him an itty bitty surprise party. He loves Morelias mexican food so I invited him there for dinner and invited all of his sisters to tag along without him knowing it. It was a success and he wasnt even mad :)

I wanted to post about this A- Because my dad is freaking awesome and B- I found these incredibly cute cupcakes that I thought I would share because I think they would be super simple to make, and they are so cute for summer gatherings.
When I looked up a recipe online, I found one where they used brownies as the hamburger patty.

This picture makes me laugh. If this doesnt sell you on the idea of hamburger cupcakes I dont know what will.

I love those cupcakes! I made a cake once that looked like a hot dog and french fries. I love stuff like that for summer!

Your family is so cool--even though I don't even know them. I love that they all participated in the race. Also, another reason your Dad is awesome is because he loves Morelia's--that place is MY FAVORITE!! Even your dog is cool! Looks like you are having a great summer.
